Hoosier Conservative Leader
Kyle Pierce was elected in 2022 to represent House District 36 in the Indiana General Assembly.
Pierce is a pragmatic, Conservative Hoosier focused on championing higher-paying jobs, protecting individual liberties, empowering families to have more choice in their children’s education, promoting government transparency, and streamlining government for Hoosiers.
Born and raised in Central Indiana, Pierce is from a proud manufacturing and military family. He is the grandson of two lifetime General Motors employees and was raised to understand the value of hard work.
During the legislative session, Pierce serves on the Election & Apportionment Committee, Financial Institutions Committee, and the Commerce, Small Business, and Economic Development Committee.
He serves on the Government Reform Task Force and the Code Revision Committee for the rest of the year.
In 2023, Pierce supported legislation providing one of Indiana's largest tax cut packages, saving an estimated $430 million for hardworking Hoosiers. He also supported a bill to provide $100 million in property tax relief for homeowners beginning this year. Pierce also co-authored a bill to lower healthcare costs and increase transparency in Indiana's largest hospital systems by establishing a new Health Care Cost Oversight Task Force. He also co-sponsored a bill launching a new statewide infrastructure for mental health services, including expanding the number of behavioral health clinics. He has also worked to promote and pass legislation that streamlines state government, allowing for greater accountability, transparency, and accountability for Hoosiers.
Pierce was one of three Indiana legislators selected for the 2023 Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development, a competitive fellowship program for emerging Midwest state legislators.
In 2024, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) recognized him as a policy champion for sponsoring Senator Eric Koch’s SB 180, which protects Hoosiers from implementing a Central Bank Digital Currency. Pierce was named a “20 under 40” Awardee by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. The Indiana Credit Union League recognized him with an “Outstanding Hoosier Legislator” award
In 2025, Pierce was presented with a STAR award by the Indiana Parkinson's Disease community for promoting awareness of Parkinson's Disease and measures to assist those impacted. That same year, he was named to the Maverick PAC’s Future40.
Maverick PAC recognizes 40 up-and-coming Conservative leaders from across the country each year. Alumni include Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), Senator Ted Cruz (TX), Representatives Elise Stefanik (NY-21), French Hill (AR-2), Mike Gallagher (WI-8), Mike Waltz (FL-6), Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Tony Gonzales (TX-23), and Wesley Hunt (TX-38).
Pierce graduated from Indiana University's Robert H. McKinney School of Law and Ball State University, and he works in the nonprofit sector, in addition to serving in the Indiana House of Representatives. He, his wife, and two children live in Anderson.
